What is Site Diagnostics?

Site Diagnostics analyzes your website across five critical ranking factors: Content, Links, AI Readiness, UX, and SEO. Compare against competitors, identify issues, and receive detailed instructions to fix them and improve your rankings on Google and AI search engines.

Before You Begin

  • Website connected to your project
  • At least 1 site audit credit in your quota
  • Website URL that is publicly accessible

Start a New Site Audit

From your dashboard, click "Site Diagnostics" in the sidebar, then click "New Audit".

The audit wizard opens with three steps: Find Competitors → Select Sites → Review Results.

Find Your Competitors

Enter keywords that describe your business (maximum 3 words). Examples:

  • "local coffee shop"
  • "plumbing services"
  • "digital marketing"

Click "Find Competitors". The system searches both:

Google Competitors

Websites ranking on page 1 of Google for your keywords (using DataForSEO)

AI Competitors

Websites cited by ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI chatbots when answering questions about your keywords

Pro Tip

Pro Tip: AI competitors are important because they're the sites AI chatbots recommend to users. If you're not in this list, you're missing out on AI-driven traffic.

Select Competitors to Analyze

Select competitors that:

  • Directly compete for your keywords
  • Have similar business models
  • Rank well in both Google and AI search

Note

Note: You must select at least 1 competitor. Comparing against successful sites helps identify what's working for them that you can improve on your own site.

Run the Diagnostic Audit

After selecting competitors, click "Run Audit". The AI analyzes:

1. Your Website Content

Scrapes and analyzes your website pages, looking at content quality, structure, and relevance

2. Competitor Websites

Analyzes selected competitor sites to understand what they're doing well

3. AI Analysis

Uses Perplexity AI to evaluate all sites across the 5 ranking factors and generate recommendations

Review Your Audit Results

Once complete, you'll see scores across five ranking factors:

  • 📝 Content - Quality, depth, and relevance of your content
  • 🔗 Links - Internal and external link structure
  • 🤖 AI Readiness - How well your site performs in AI search
  • 🎨 UX - User experience and site performance
  • 🔍 SEO - Technical SEO and on-page optimization
  • ⭐ Overall - Combined score across all factors

Pro Tip: Focus on ranking factors where competitors score significantly higher than you. These are your biggest opportunities for improvement.

Get Detailed Fix Instructions

For each issue identified, you'll receive detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to fix it on your website. These instructions are tailored to your CMS (WordPress, Wix, or other platforms) and provide clear guidance on what changes to make.
